Our Touring Program
Day 1: Depart USA. Your exciting Mediterranean journey begins this evening as you check-in for your overnight jet flight bound for Rome.
Day 2: Arrive in Rome. Early afternoon arrival in Rome, vibrant capital of Italy. After customs formalities, you'll be escorted to Civitavecchia to board the Costa Romantica and begin your weeklong Mediterranean cruise. Costa Romantica (B,D)
Catania Harbor
Day 3: Catania. Early in the afternoon arrive into Catania. Located at the base of the active volcano Mount Etna, Catania was founded by the Greeks and then taken over by the Romans. Explore independently or select from optional tours to Taormina (the most popular Sicilian beach resort), a Jeep tour of Mount Etna or or historic Catania, whose highlights include Saint Agatha's Cathedral, the Ursino Castle, Biscari Palace or the Roman Ampitheatre (B,L,D)
Day 4: Cruising All the fantastic facilities of the Romantica are available to you as you spend a day at sea. Stroll the ample decks, enjoy the sun, swim, and take advantage of the many leisure activities aboard your luxury ship. (B,L,D)
Patmos, Greece
Day 5: Patmos/Mykonos. This morning, arrive at small Greek island of Patmos, famous in history as the place where St. John wrote the Book of Revelation. An optional tour takes you to the Cave of the Apocalypse, where St. John lived, and the nearby Monastery, built on one of the island's highest points, housing priceless icons and manuscripts in its Treasury.
Mykonos
Early in the afternoon, reboard your ship for a short trip to Mykonos, where chic crowds flock to the island's trendy restaurants, discos, and clubs each night, and where you can sit seaside, sipping ouzo and watching the sunset while listening to traditional Greek music. Before heading back to the ship, enjoy a stroll through Mykonos town with its labyrinth of winding alleyways and whitewashed buildings, basket-laden donkeys, cascading geraniums and upscale shops and cafes. Day 6: Izmir. This morning arrive at Izmir, Turkey's second city, after Istanbul, thanks to its busy port and intense industrial activity. Located within a beautiful bay and surrounded by lovely hills, the town has evolved into a modern metropolis from which some of Turkey's most important ancient treasures are easily explored, including Ephesus, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Day 7: Santorini. This striking island, with breathtaking panoramas and rugged landscapes, is actually a volcanic crater slightly immersed in the sea. The island is famous for its whitewashed houses, narrow streets, open-air cafes and glittering boutiques which cling to steep cliffs, accessible by foot, cable car or mule. Explore independently or enjoy an optional tour of Santorini that takes you up along the rocky Caldera (volcanic crater). Be sure to sample some of the island's famous wines, served with delicious cheese. (B, L, D)
Day 8: Cruising. Enjoy a day at leisure as you cruise. Relax and take advantage of the amenities on board the Costa Romantica. We recommend a day at the spa. The Romantica houses a first class spa that offers beauty treatments, therapies and personalized instruction. (B,L,D)

Day 9: Arrive in Rome. Arrive in Rome this morning. After breakfast, disembark from your cruise and enjoy a full day to explore Rome, the Eternal City. You'll find a treasure trove of ancient ruins, art, music and architecture, religious passion, all juxtaposed against the frenetic pace and cutting edge modern fashion of an ultra-modern European city. Your hotel is ideally located, within short distance of many major attractions, as well as the best shopping and dining. (B)
Day 10: Rome/USA. Your memorable Mediterranean journey ends as you say arrivederci Roma to the Eternal City and transfer independently to the airport for your return flight to the USA. Arrive in the USA later today. Or, continue your stay in Rome by adding a late return and extra nights to your package. (B)

All cabins feature pastel hues in an elegant minimalist style and include a personal safe, TV, refrigerator, private bathroom with shower and hairdryer, and small sitting area with a table and two chairs. Outside cabins and suites are also available.
