Front Entrance The Starhotels Metropole is located in the Umbertine section of Rome, in the Quirinale district, and offers a convenient location just a five-minute walk from the central Termini rail station and 2 km from the Coliseum and Forum. The Teatro dell'Opera (Opera House) is just around the corner, and the hotel concierge can book tickets for opera or ballet.

The lower portion of Via Principe Amedeo offers a rare glimpse of multicultural Rome, with Indian wholesale-jewelry shops alongside Hong Kong restaurants.

Twin room Recently renovated, the nine-story hotel offers 234 uniquely appointed, contemporary rooms. All are soundproofed and air conditioned and furnished with minibar, color satellite TV with international channels and Internet connection, movies on demand, direct-dial telephone and radio. The tiled bathrooms are equipped with a bidet, hair dryer, TV, and phone.

Lounge The ground-floor breakfast room, Tre Scalini, serves a generous, complimentary American-style buffet breakfast daily.For lunch and dinner, the hotel's renowned Ristorante Apicio serves Italian cuisine with a focus on Roman fare. Bucatini all'Amatriciana (thick spaghetti with a hearty tomato-and-pork sauce) is a specialty of the house. Or unwind in the popular lounge and bar, featuring live music nightly. The notes fade away toward the Liberty-style skylight, which illuminates the room with a play of lights.

Lobby Fresh flowers in dramatic arrangements brighten the expansive marble lobby. A shop just off the lobby sells designer leather goods and watches. The bar/lounge area houses a computer station with complimentary high-speed Internet access and a television. The multilingual staff are happy to assist with all your needs, including cell phone rental, currency exchange and dry cleaning. Use of a nearby fitness center is available at a discount to guests.
