Staying Healthy | Check with your physician about malaria suppressants, and make sure that all of your routine vaccinations are up-to-date. Remember to take along plenty of insect repellant and sunscreen. Medical facilities in Myanmar are very basic. In the event of a medical emergency, it is best to seek treatment in Bangkok, Thailand. Take along all prescription medicine needed for the trip. |
Weather | Myanmar is a year-round destination; each season has its pros and cons. October to February has mild temperatures in the 70s and 80s and little rainfall. February to May tends to be dry and very hot, though not unbearable. May to October is the rainy season, though the central part of the country tends to be drier than the coast. |

Money & Credit Cards | ATMs are not available in small towns and villages but you may find them at major airports and banks. Always notify your bank prior to departure to avoid any problems using your credit or debit card while traveling. |
