So that we can offer you the best deals, our packages are, like most hotels and cruises, priced based on double occupancy rooms or cabins. We charge solo travelers an extra fee to cover the extra costs of single occupancy rooms or cabins. (Consider: if you booked a $200/night hotel room solo, you would pay the $200 yourself; but if a couple booked the same room, each one would pay only $100.) Day 1 Depart USA

Arrive at Venice airport, complete immigration and customs formalities, and meet our representative, who will escort you to the pier to transfer to Venice via private boat. After a short walk, arrive at your hotel for check-in. 

Join your fellow travelers for a welcome dinner at a local restaurant this evening.

Day 3 Venice

This morning, depart for a private walking tour of the historic center of Venice. View the golden Mosaics in St. Mark's Basilica, followed by a visit to the famous Doge's Palace, the true heart of medieval Venetian political power, and discover the places where the Doge and his council discussed the city's fate. See the Golden Staircase and many other works of art. Cross the famous Bridge of Sighs and enter the Venetian prison to learn how the prisoners of the Most Serene Republic lived. Lose yourself in Venice as you explore cobblestone streets and canals, marveling at medieval wonders and shopping for unique crafts. 

This afternoon, embark on a boat tour to the island of Murano and visit a glass-blowing factory. Murano glass is famous worldwide, and you will see artisans continue the tradition, which has developed over centuries and has roots in ancient Rome and Byzantium.

In the late afternoon, embark on a journey filled with enchantment and unforgettable memories in the heart of Italy's floating city. Originating in Venice, the gondola is an ancient row boat that has evolved over the last 1,000 years and today holds a unique asymmetrical design that allows just one oarsman to navigate through the Venetian waterways using a single oar. The city's "streets" are comprised of waterways, making the gondola the official transportation of choice. Drift through Venice's picturesque canals surrounded by historic architecture during this classical 30-minute 5-passenger gondola ride.

After an early breakfast, take a private boat taxi to meet your motor coach and travel to scenic Modena, in the heart of Northern Italy's Emilia-Romagna region, considered the food capital of Italy. Sample Balsamic vinegar that has aged for years in wooden barrels and has a rich, complex, and sweet flavor. The region's balsamic vinegar is considered one of the world's finest and most traditional vinegar and is used to enhance dishes such as salads, cheeses, meats, and desserts. Next, enjoy lunch in an osteria where you'll enjoy regional cuisine in a cozy atmosphere. Later this afternoon, arrive in Florence. After check-in, relax or explore this enchanting city at your own pace.

Next, get hands-on with a pasta cooking class! You will learn to knead, cut, roll, and fill the ravioli, then cut and form the dumplings, noodles, or other varieties of homemade pasta. The chefs' recipes are based on freshness, high-quality local ingredients, Italian tradition, and in-depth experience, making this a quintessential learning experience for Italian dishes. Enjoy lunch along with wine, olive oil, and balsamic vinegar tastings.

This afternoon, discover the stunning panoramic vistas of the Chianti region as you drive to the charming town of Siena, a UNESCO World Heritage site renowned for its medieval cityscape. Siena is famous for its rich history, art, cuisine, and the Palio, a historic horse race held twice a year in the city's main square, Piazza del Campo. This fan-shaped square is also home to the Fonte Gaia, one of the most beautiful fountains in Italy, and the Torre del Mangia, offering breathtaking views from its top. Enjoy a private walking tour of Siena's narrow winding streets and visit the magnificent Siena Cathedral (Duomo di Siena), a masterpiece of Italian Romanesque-Gothic architecture.

Day 8 Montepulciano & Rome

After breakfast, head toward the spectacular medieval town of Montepulciano, known for its majestic Renaissance buildings, ancient churches, and stunning natural scenery. Nestled in the heart of Tuscany, Montepulciano sits high on a limestone ridge, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding Tuscan countryside and vineyards. Montepulciano's rich history, combined with its culinary delights and exquisite wines, makes it a must-visit destination that perfectly encapsulates the essence of Tuscany.

Then, visit a pecorino cheese producer to learn about this iconic cheese. Get a glimpse of the laboratory, followed by a tasting of local cheese, salami, and salad, accompanied with a glass of wine. 

Later this afternoon, continue your drive south towards Rome.

This morning, tour the wonders of Ancient Rome, including the Roman Forum. See the hill where, according to tradition, Rome was founded in the 7th century B.C.E. by Romulus and Remus. Next, visit the impressive Colosseum. The Amphitheater, created to entertain ancient Roman citizens with bloody shows of gladiators and wild animals, is one of the fascinating landmarks of the city. Walk on the original path of Ancient Rome along the Via Sacra and see the Temples of Vesta, Antonino, and Faustina and the old Basilicas Julia and Aemilia while dreaming about the glorious past of the Roman Empire. 

Enjoy the afternoon at leisure in the Eternal City.

Day 10 Rome

St. Peter's Square

This morning, depart for the Vatican City! Enjoy a guided tour of the Vatican Museum, the Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter's Basilica. First, witness the ancient Roman statues brought to the Vatican when the Popes ruled the entire region. Next, visit the famous and significant sculptures, including the Apollo Belvedere, Laocoön and His Sons, the Torso, and the busts of Hadrian and his lover Antinous. Then, view the Gallery of the Candelabra, the Gallery of Tapestries, and finally, the magnificent Sistine Chapel. See the famous paintings of the Last Judgment, the Stories of Moses and Jesus, and Michelangelo's famous Creation of Adam. The chapel is also the location of the Conclaves, where papal elections are held. Continue to Saint Peter's Basilica. Admire another one of Michelangelo's masterpieces, La Pietà. End your Vatican experience in Saint Peter's Square, the great work of the architect Bernini, with many symbols, saints, and more than 200 columns.

Spend the late afternoon at leisure. Enjoy a farewell dinner with your fellow travelers on your last night in Rome.

Depart Rome and head south towards Sorrento, where you'll visit a vineyard at the foot of Vesuvius to taste organic wines, extra virgin olive oil, and local treats, including bruschetta, salami, pasta, cheese, and homemade dessert.

Next, enjoy a guided tour of Pompeii, the ancient city frozen in time by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in AD 79. This UNESCO World Heritage site offers an unparalleled glimpse into daily life in the Roman Empire. As you walk through the archaeological site, you'll see the remains of homes, shops, and public buildings, many of which still feature original frescoes and mosaics, providing insight into Roman art and culture. Set off along the Amalfi Coast and visit the beautiful villages and iconic towns dotting the coastline. Stroll along the promenade of Amalfi while taking in the views of the water and the town's white buildings hugging the coastline.
