Kinga's Chapel, Wieliczka Salt Mine

After breakfast, head underground for a fascinating visit to the Wieliczka Salt Mine, one of Europe’s oldest and largest historic salt mines. This mine has been in operation for over 700 years and is recognized by UNESCO as one of the world’s most priceless cultural treasures. Descend by elevator to the first level and step into a hidden world where chapels, sculptures, and even chandeliers are carved entirely out of salt. Marvel at the impressive 180-foot underground chapel and explore an incredible network of chambers, museums, and even a few surprising features like underground sports courts!

Afterward, return to Kraków for some free time to relax or explore on your own. Then, dive deeper into the city’s complex history with a visit to the Jewish Quarter, known as Kazimierz. Once a vibrant center of Jewish life for centuries, this district is now a poignant reminder of the past and a lively hub of culture and creativity.

Day 4 Kraków

This morning, set out on a guided tour to discover the highlights of Kraków. Begin at Wawel Hill and view the majestic Royal Castle before stepping inside the Royal Cathedral, one of Poland’s most important national shrines.

Next, take a walking tour through Kraków’s Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Soak in the atmosphere of the bustling Main Market Square, marvel at the elegant Renaissance Cloth Hall, and visit the iconic St. Mary’s Church, where the sound of the trumpet from the church tower still echoes across the square every hour.

The afternoon is yours to enjoy at your own pace. Relax at a local café, browse through artisan shops, or continue exploring more of this beautiful city independently.

Day 5 Kraków & Warsaw

  • Pay tribute with a visit to Auschwitz-Birkenau, a solemn UNESCO site honoring the memory of those lost during the Holocaust

This morning, experience a deeply moving visit to Auschwitz-Birkenau, the former Nazi concentration and extermination camp and now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. As you walk through the preserved grounds, your guide will help provide historical context and honor the memory of the millions who suffered and perished here during World War II. It’s a solemn but important experience that offers powerful insight into one of history’s darkest chapters.

Later, continue on to Warsaw, arriving in the afternoon. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay in Poland’s capital city.

Today, explore Warsaw, a city with over 700 years of history and a powerful spirit of resilience. Begin with a scenic drive along the historic Royal Route, taking in some of the city’s most iconic landmarks: Castle Square, Łazienki Park and Palace, the Palace of Culture and Science (fondly nicknamed “the wedding cake”), Saxon Gardens, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, the Monument to the Heroes of the Warsaw Ghetto, and the medieval Barbican.

Then, set out on a guided walking tour through Warsaw’s beautifully restored Old Town, where you’ll stroll the cobbled streets of Market Square and visit St. John’s Cathedral.

The afternoon is yours to enjoy at leisure, or attend an optional Chopin Concert!

Optional Excursion: Chopin Concert, $62

Step into one of Warsaw’s elegant private palaces for an unforgettable piano recital celebrating the life and legacy of Frédéric Chopin. Born and raised in Warsaw, Chopin was recognized early on as a musical prodigy and went on to become a defining figure of Classical Romantic music. Surrounded by the ambiance of historic architecture, enjoy an intimate performance of some of his most beloved works. During intermission, savor a glass of champagne as you soak in the elegant surroundings. The experience lasts approximately two hours.
