For your convenience, we've partnered with Travelex Insurance Services, one of the most respected names in the industry, to offer our travelers a competitively priced travel protection plan. The plan offers a wide range of benefits, including coverage for trip cancellation (for a covered reason), interruption or travel delays, missed connections, medical emergency expenses and evacuation, lost or delayed baggage, and more. Maximum covered trip cost is $15,000 per person.

The plan is available to anybody with a primary residence in the United States, excluding overseas territories.

Upon request, the plan can also cover any other travel arrangements related to your trip not purchased through Friendly Planet, including connecting flights, or hotels.

Purchasing

When you book a trip with us, online or by phone, we'll give you the option to add on the protection plan to your booking.

You may also purchase the plan later. To add coverage to an existing booking, select the appropriate option on our Make A Payment Page, or contact us.

The plan may be purchased at any time until you make your final payment. It may not be purchased after we receive your final payment.

If you purchase within 15 days of booking, the Pre-Existing Condition Exclusion will be waived at no additional cost.

If you have purchased (or plan to purchase) other travel arrangements related to your trip not through Friendly Planet, and would like to include them in your coverage, contact us before the deadlines listed above.

In particular, if you have purchased international airfare from us with your package, and would like to add the cost of connecting flights you purchase independently to your coverage, we are happy to help. (Note that the additional coverage might increase your premium slightly; see the Price section below.) However, if you purchased your package without flights ("land-only"), we cannot add any flights that you purchase independently to your coverage.

If for some reason you need to change your departure date or even your package, we can transfer your premiums and coverage to your new booking, provided you have not filed a claim or commenced travel. Unfortunately, we cannot refund premiums for cancelled bookings.
